The Rototom Sunsplash is a must for all people who love reggae music. The festival will take place for the third time in a row, from the 16th to the 22nd of August in the valencian town of Benicassim. Rototom Sunsplash invites to its stage, for 19 years, the most representative bands of the reggae music worldwide. Therefore it is considered the main yearly reunion between the musician and the adept of the rasta movement of Europe.
Last year at Rototom Sunsplash, there were over 230’000 persons following over 370 live acts. So it isn’t exaggerated at all to consider this festival the biggest one in Europe.

Derrick Morgan, Alborosie and Muchachito Bombo Infierno are top artists shown as the main acts on the official poster of Rototom 2012. Derrick Morgen is one of the most significant names in Jamaican music. He is one of the last legends from the sixties, the decade when the reggae was born. Alborosie has his origin in Italy but lives in Jamaica, and he’s one of the most popular reggae artists at this moment. There is as well Muchachito Bombo Infierno, a Spanish Ska band that got its fans because of a funny and animating mixture of different music types.
Calle 13, Tarus Rilley, Alpha Blondy, Beenie Man, Etana and Jah Shaka are more of a lot of other unique bands acting at Rototom 2012.
Introducing party of Rototom Sunsplash 2012
Rototom Sunsplash has organised a reggae party to introduce the festival. It will take place in the city centre of Benicassim on the 15th of August and there is free access to this party. At this first experience of the festival, which promises to be very successful, is one act to point out: the vocal trio Mighty Diamonds. Tabby Shaw, Bunny Simpson and Judge Ferguson formed Mighty Diamonds at the end of the sixties, and they kept until now the same band members. Pablo Moses and Linval Thompson are the other planned live acts for the reggae welcome party.
